Orange Striped Blue Fish Hand-Painted Limoges Box

Several orange stripes band this blue fish from head to tail, a bold and artful take on the reef dwellers. The fish was painted by hand on porcelain in Limoges, France, to make a Limoges box.

Bands of Sunset Orange

Where the single stripe fish keeps things simple, this one adds rhythm with multiple orange bands. The repeated stripes against the blue create a graphic, almost painterly pattern that appeals to fine art collectors as much as ocean fans.

Stripe After Stripe

• Blue fish banded with several orange stripes
• Fits a fish, fine art or reef collection
• Pairs with the single orange stripe blue fish

From Gallery Shelf to Beach House

Set it in a beach house next to coral and shells, or on a gallery style shelf with other bold designs. It makes a fine present for a painter who loves color, a marine biologist, a diving instructor, or a friend who keeps a saltwater tank. Collectors often display it beside its single stripe cousin to show how a small change transforms the look. Because the bands are brushed on by hand, no two of these fish carry exactly the same pattern.
